From Digital Form to Living Space

This custom coffee table began as a digital exploration of form, proportion, and material contrast. At Vertico, we 3D printed the table’s organic concrete base in deep black, shaping it layer by layer through robotic fabrication. The flowing geometry highlights the precision and freedom offered by concrete 3D printing.

Paired with a smooth marble tabletop, the piece balances weight and lightness, texture and refinement, resulting in a timeless object that sits between furniture and sculpture.

Craft, Material, and Assembly

The fabrication process focused on surface quality, structural stability, and the dialogue between materials. The concrete base was printed as a single sculptural element, while the marble top was carefully selected to complement the form without overpowering it. Together, they create a calm but expressive centerpiece.

This behind-the-scenes process reflects how digital design gradually transforms into a tangible, functional object—one layer at a time.

Designed to Belong

The table now lives in the home of Jurgen Westerhoff & Carlijn Compen, set within a space defined by floor-to-ceiling windows and a warm mid-century atmosphere. Seeing the piece in its final context reinforces what we value most: creating objects that naturally integrate into real homes and real lives.

Projects like this show how 3D concrete printing can bring character, function, and sculptural presence into everyday spaces.
