Pushing boundaries with the 2023 concrete canoe

At Vertico, the annual concrete canoe race has become a cherished tradition, marking both creativity and technical progress. This year, we proudly introduced our fourth 3D-printed canoe, showcasing not just our enduring commitment to innovation but also the remarkable advancements we’ve made in quality and technique.

The 2023 canoe was crafted using a non-planar 3D printing technique, allowing for greater structural strength and a more dynamic design. For the first time, we incorporated a color pigment, adding a unique aesthetic touch to the canoe while demonstrating the versatility of our technology. The canoe was printed in two parts, a practical approach that streamlined production without compromising on performance.

This annual tradition is more than just a race; it’s a testament to how far 3D concrete printing has come. Each year, we refine our processes, push boundaries, and elevate our designs, and this year's entry is a perfect reflection of that progress.
