3D-printed pedestals for Dutch Design Week exhibition
Vertico proudly showcased its 3D concrete printing expertise at Dutch Design Week 2024, contributing to multiple exhibits across Eindhoven. One of the highlights was our collaboration with Isola Design, where we had the pleasure of 3D printing pedestals to display the creations of talented artists.
The project involved creating 15 pedestals of varying shapes, heights, and dimensions.
We intentionally chose a pure white finish for the pedestals to keep the focus on their elegant shapes and the artists' works they showcased. The neutral tone also served to emphasize the sculptural quality of the designs, creating a clean and modern aesthetic that blended seamlessly with the exhibit's overall atmosphere.
One of the most exciting aspects of this project was the opportunity to challenge perceptions of concrete. The pedestals were designed to appear soft and flowing. This contrast between the fluidity of the forms and the rigidity of the material highlights the transformative potential of modern 3D printing technology.
The collaboration with Isola Design and the artists demonstrated how 3D concrete printing can elevate creative expression. These pedestals weren’t just functional elements—they were a celebration of the synergy between cutting-edge technology and art.
