3D-printed pedestals for Dutch Design Week exhibition
For Dutch Design Week 2024, Vertico 3D printed 15 concrete pedestals for an exhibition with Isola Design. The pedestals displayed the work of the exhibiting artists and came in varying shapes, heights and dimensions. It was one of several exhibits across Eindhoven where Vertico's printing was on show.

For Isola Design, we printed the pedestals that presented the artists' creations.
Concept
We chose a pure white finish to keep the focus on the shapes of the pedestals and on the artworks they carried.
The neutral tone also brought out the sculptural quality of the designs. It gave a clean, modern look that fit the overall atmosphere of the exhibit.
Making concrete look soft
The project was a chance to challenge how people see concrete. The pedestals were designed to appear soft and flowing.
That contrast between fluid form and rigid material shows what 3D printing can do with concrete. Read how the forms were generated in how parametric design shaped the DDW pedestals.
