This summer we collaborated with the Kinderboerderij & Waterspeeltuin Tanthof, landscape architect Bureau RIS | Ruimtelijke Inrichting Speelnatuur te Gouda and MultiTuin en Landschap on an exciting new project—a 3D printed concrete curved bench, over 20 meters long, designed as seating and edging for a huge water/sand play pit for toddlers in Tanthof, Delft!

What’s so special about the design?

- Inclusivity: 3d printing allowed us to design and produce varied seating heights to comfortably accommodate everyone, from children to grandparents. Thanks to 3d printing, this design decision doesn’t require additional costs like the conventional molding does.

- Material Reduction: By printing it hollow, we reduced material usage by 75%, delivering a beautiful and eco-friendly addition to the playground.

- Formwork Elimination: no formwork was used to make the bench, therefore no formwork was wasted. This is an oft overlooked part of the production process.

We’re proud to contribute to this fun and sustainable space, and we’re even more excited about future plans to optimize the material for a lower cement content, further reducing the environmental impact. Stay tuned as we continue to innovate for a greener future!
